Maintained and scaled the advertising facilties, <a href="http://home.netscape.com/columns/techvision/ldap.html">added the first META tags</a> to the site <em>(view the source),</em> and helped to insure the website ran smoothly when it was the first to sustain over 100 million hits per day.</li> <li> Technology Evangelist @ Partner and Developer Relations: initially covering client-side technologies (Plugins, <a href="http://developer.netscape.com/docs/technote/javascript/window/">JavaScript</a>, Composer Plug-ins, SmartUpdate, DHTML) and then server-side technologies. This is Jamie Quick." I've never been at a job longer than the three years I spent at Netscape and probably won't be, ever. I started out in Pro Serv in Chicago and moved on to the World Wide Professional Services in Mountain View. And then it was Australia, India, Japan, France, England, and Germany. Soon, it was AOL, and even though they still had the Netscape logo on my paycheck, after my brother was killed in May of 2000, it was hard just to go on with anything. But since then Hiroko and I got married, moved to LA, bought a house, and had two kids. I still love consulting. And I went back to teaching (part time) about four years ago . . . it's still a blast.
